WHAT INFORMATION IS ON A TYRE LABEL?
From the image above there are three important categories
Fuel Efficiency
Wet Grip
External rolling noise
Fuel efficiency
Rolling resistance is the energy lost when the tyre is rolling, a lower rolling resistance in turn means a lower fuel consumption and lower CO2 emission. ‘A’ labeled fuel efficiency is the most efficient down to the lowest rating of ‘G’.
Wet grip
Tyres that have good wet grip will have a shorter braking distance on a wet road. As with the fuel efficiency the grade ‘A’ indicates the most effective wet grip performance.
External rolling noise
This is the noise level that the tyre generates expressed in decibels. The smaller the wave the lower the noise level.
The EU flag
This is a must on the tyre label, this indicates it has passed the required recommendations for sale in Europe.
